Week 14 – Knock and Ring on the Door!

There are three ways to initially open a stranger’s front door option 1; you can knock on it, option 2; ring the doorbell, or option 3; you can force your way in.  Clearly, we are here for a pleasant harmonious experience and we all know, you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar so option 3 is NOT an option especially when it comes to door-to-door sales and wanting to gain entry through the door physically and in order to build a relationship and rapport with the person on the other side.  The same is true metaphorically to open the door to life’s opportunities.

This week I watched “Door to Door”, a 2002 television film about life journey of Bill Porter, an inspiring and successful door-to-door salesman with cerebral palsy, which highlighted so many powerful lessons of success in life.

Lesson one:  Be Patient, have awillingness to be able to be positive when things are not going our way.

Lesson two:  Be Persistent, by continuing in action despite any obstacles (including physical and emotional) with courage.

Lesson three:  Accept Love and Belief from others – by accepting love and the belief of people who love and believe in us.  We build confidence, self-worth, and BELIEF in our selves.

Lesson four:  Have an unwavering Work Ethic, consistently show up rain, hail or shine, put effective systems in place and know your product inside out.

Lesson five:  Be Willing to Serve Others by genuinely caring about their needs and getting to know what they want and help them achieve it.

Lesson six:  Be Authentic, imitations and copycats are not allowed and not sustainable, be yourself.

Lesson seven:  Focus on what you can control, not what you cannot.

Lesson eight:  Be Positive, it is not what happens it is how we respond to what happens.

Lesson nine:  Be Enthusiastic, it is contagious and others are attracted to your positive spirit and energy.

Lesson ten:  Never give up, never give-up on the positives, never up on your passions, never give up on the dreams.

To have more opportunities we must knock on the door or ring the bell for the door to open.

Knock and Ring… opportunity awaits.

Love and Belief,

Lisa xo
